Varsity baseball, softball and track action

Varsity Baseball took 3rd place this past weekend in the Rogers Tournament. Highlights of the weekend include a 12-8 win over Rogers to take home the hardware, a 14-2 victory over Brazos, and a 10-5 victory over Cameron. The team's only loss was to China Springs 9-3. Congratulations!

Varsity Softball saw action in Taylor, with teams from around the state competing.  Pool play included a win over Groesbeck 5-0, a loss to a more experienced Bruceville Eddy team 3-1, and a loss to Pflugerville Conaly 4-3. The pool standings landed the team in the Consolation Bracket Saturday. The Lady Hornets started the day with an 8-0 win over Granger, but fell short to Hutto 3-0.

Varsity Track traveled to Rockdale on Friday. Varsity Boys placed 3rd overall with 1st place finishes earned by Redmond Ward in the 800 and JJ Jackson in the 110 hurdles. Varsity Girls finished 9th, with Rian Rodriguez placing 1st in the 3200 and Lauren Bane finising 2nd in the Pole Vault.

Baseball takes the field again Tuesday in Caldwell, playing Smithville at 4:30 and 7 pm. Softball plays Giddings on Tuesday at Lady Hornet Field at 5 and 7 pm. The next Track meet is March 7 in Cameron. Happy Skrabanek Relays are coming up on March 23 in Caldwell, so spread the word. Good luck and Sting 'em!
