One "Wild Ride" for Caldwell Athletics

Local business owner Jim Cross of Bud Cross Ford presents Caldwell Athletic Director Kenneth Gilchrist with the keys to a 2012 F-150 FX2 Lariat crew cab truck outfitted in hues of orange, navy and white. The truck, which displays a hornet crashing through the sides, will be in Gilchrist's possession for the entire school year and will be a mainstay at Caldwell sporting events.

"We wanted to do something to show 100% support for the new athletic program at Caldwell ISD," says Cross. With my dad's background as a coach in Caldwell, it seemed fitting to make a big statement. I hope the community is as excited as we are about the program and the coming years."

Bud Cross Ford has supported Caldwell Athletics for decades and encourages other local businesses and residents to do the same. Caldwell Athletic Booster Club sponsorships and memberships are still available. Contact a board member or volunteer for more information.

Midnight Madness comes to Caldwell

A swarm will descend upon Hornet Field on Thursday, August 9 near the midnight hour. The pride of Caldwell, the Fightin' Caldwell Hornet Football Team will take the field during the very early morning hours of August 10 for a full-pad workout and scrimmage.

The entire community is invited to attend in support of the new football season and athletic program. Caldwell High School athletes began training this week for football, volleyball and cross country and are eager to begin competition.

"We are ready to take this program to a level that it has not seen before," says Caldwell Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Kenneth Gilchrist.

The Caldwell Athletic Booster Club will be on hand with membership information during Midnight Madness. Drastically-reduced spirit wear will be on sale, just in time for back-to-school.

Make every effort to attend and witness the unveiling of a new era in Hornet Sports...you won't want to miss it!
